This finely crafted Dha features a nielloed silver hilt, decorated with animals, foliage and stylised figures, likely scenes of the Burmese adaptation of the Ramayana and Jataka (Yama Zatdaw). Richly inlaid with silver, copper and brass on both faces of the steel blade's fuller as well as on its back-edge. The wood scabbard is mounted with silver floral scrolling openwork throughout, both faces decorated with 5 repoussé medallions each featuring different animals. See a related example at the Victoria & Albert Museum (IS.236&A-1964).
