Footnotes

Sculpture representing a slender standing figure. The pose is highly expressive, with the right arm raised and a round face shown with an open mouth and protruding tongue. The figure is adorned with two circular medallions on either side of the head suggesting ears, and a pointed horn on top of the skull. The latter refers to the figure's shamanic status, while the presence of a round shield in the left hand may symbolize a protective aspect.
This type of late figure is very rare and can be compared to a similar model once part of the Ziff Collection.
