The globular vase with a narrow vertical mouth and tall lid topped by a shishi (mythical Chinese lion) finial, painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with a group of ladies enjoying a boating expedition on a lotus pond, the shoulder and foot each decorated with 12 lappets enclosing floral and geometric designs, the shishi boldly decorated in gilt and blue enamels, signed underneath in gilt Meizan sei (Made by Meizan)
