The work reproduces in lithographed facsimile "typescripts produced by members of Scott's party during three bleak Antarctic winters spent in his company" (Taurus) during both his Discovery (volumes 1 and 2) and Terra Nova (volume 3) Expeditions, both finely illustrated throughout with views, caricatures and other illustrations, many by Edward Wilson.
