SCOTLAND
(i) Manuscript sasine bearing stamped signatures of James I and Anne of Denmark, issued in the name of Anne of Denmark as Lady of Dunfermline, in Latin, relating to Robert and Margaret Cunningham, registered by John Paip, writer to the Signet, and signed with his calligraphic signature, counter-signed by Alexander Seton, Lord High Chancellor ("Al: Chancell") and Walter Stewart, first Baron Blantyre ("Blantyre"), and two others, lacking ties and seals, on vellum, dust-staining, scuffing and marks, one small hole, 310 x 388mm., Edinburgh, 27 January 1616; with four other documents dated 1586, 1589, 1610, 1822, two drawn up and authenticated by James Kingorne, Notary Public, with his elaborate calligraphic signature, on vellum, dust-staining, marks and creasing, 294 x 308mm. and smaller
(ii) Letters Patent granted to John Smith of Harecraig, Factor to Lord Douglas, for "improvements in the manufacture of flour applicable to the making of bread, biscuits and pastry", docketed "J Smith/ Invention", manuscript on vellum, printed decorative borders and first line, dust-staining, marked with some wear, some losses along creases, 510 x 710mm., Westminster, 14 March 1849; pendant First Great Seal of Queen Victoria in original metal skippet appended on green and white cords, ochre-coloured wax, some losses and chips to edges, 160mm. diameter (6)
