First edition of a scarce slavery narrative, being the adventures of a Welsh sailor captured by French privateers, enslaved in Algeria, and his subsequent escape with a fellow female captive ("detained in this mansion to become a prey to the vile owner of it..."), confrontations with robbers, "engagement with Arabs", "journey to Mecca, and occurrences there...", and eventual return to Britain.
