A rare English slipware model of a cradle, probably North Staffordshire, late 17th or early 18th century

Of slab construction with two rockers, both sides and domed hood applied with pairs of knobs, the cream ground trailed in dark brown slip with stylised plants to each end, the canopy inscribed with the initials 'E:G' within wavy borders, further wavy borders and trefoil motifs to the sides, the knobs with dot ornament, 24cm long, 17.5cm high
