Provenance
With Maureen Thompson, 12 June 1985

This glass belongs to a distinctive group of early coin glasses with stems incorporating bulbs applied with varying numbers of raspberry prunts. These rare glasses are typically wine glasses or goblets, with loving cups being great rarities. The coins are frequently earlier in date than the shape of the glasses suggests, and the use of raspberry prunts also harks back to 17th century traditions.
