A Portuguese creamware 'Sailor' Toby jug, circa 1790

Perhaps Fábrica do Rato or Fábrica de Louça de Massarelos, modelled seated, holding a flask in his left hand and a cup in his right, wearing a blue jacket over an ochre waistcoat, with blue trousers, brown shoes and a wide hat, the shaped base sponged in blue below and ochre line border, 29.5cm high

Footnotes
