'I am sure Dr. Winterberg, you must have got my card which I had dropped from Frankfurt the other day. Have I also wrote you from Copenhagen? If not, I am writing these few lines for you. I reached on 1st April in the morning. Staying here with one of Friend. I am quite comfortable. It is a beautiful city. You know it... I need write anything about the life around me. I don't get exited in such a life but the colour in general has inspired me. That's how my black and white started giving room for little bit of colour... Now coming in the point of my work. I have shown it to many of the gallery dealers, they say they have liked my work but cannot exhibit them because they are quite occupied with their Danish painters, sculptors, and printmakers, one gallery man was quite thrilled to see my work. He is ready to show my work in September this year. But I don't think I can wait here for such a long time just to give a show where people otherwise do not have much money to take my work. From here in a weeks time I am planning to go to Sweden if possible, I think I will be back in Germany by the end of this month or first week of May 73. I have written to your parents also, by the time you might also be coming here. Hope to see you. Please remember me to Mrs. Winterberg. I thank you once again for the money you gave me. Convey my regards to Mrs Siddiqui and tell her I am doing well here. I will be writing you again from Sweden.
With Best Wishes, K. Laxma Goud.'
Untitled (Man and Woman) is a poetic and intimate hybrid of art and personal correspondence, merging drawing with a heartfelt personal letter from the artist to a friend. At its centre, a colourful depiction of a naked couple, seemingly enamoured, radiates tenderness. Flowing above the figures, handwritten words in pink script unfurl like a love letter, intertwining text and image. The blended colours and stylised written text lend a lyrical quality to this deeply personal composition. The work's strength lies in this hybridity. Through this fusion, Goud transforms the everyday act of writing into a poetic, artistic gesture, dissolving the boundaries between his everyday life and art.
