Footnotes

Provenance: From the descendants of Andrew Barclay 1814-1900, Kilmarnock, a pioneering engineer who began designing telescopes, and later in his career designed locomotives. He is known in particular for developing a locomotive which didn't produce sparks and therefore could be used in areas where fire was a risk.
