At the heart of the current reference beats the in house calibre 5625A, an automatic movement described by Blancpain as comprising of 308 components, mounted with 29 jewels, and offering a power reserve of up to 192 hours (8 days) when fully wound. The calibre is built to accommodate robust complications; a tourbillon visible at 12 o'clock, a perpetual calendar with day, date, month and leap-year indication, and a power reserve indicator. The watch is remarkably wearable in comparison with many other grand complications with a case thickness of approximately 13mm. The water resistance of the watch is rated at 100m, which in a grand complication of this nature is both generous and indicative of sturdiness despite its luxurious appearance.
