The 7140 was the first ladies perpetual calendar released by Patek Philippe. Housed within is the celebrated calibre 240 which was introduced in 1977. Born out of a desire to create a self-winding, ultra-thin movement, the calibre was built with longevity in mind and has been used in Patek Philippe watches for over 40 years. What sets the calibre 240 apart is the height of just 2.53mm, this is achieved by the 22K gold, off centre micro-rotor recessed into the main plate.
