Footnotes

The current lot is a very rare and unusual example of a lug less Carrée with fluted sides. Very few of these have come to market and this is only the second example we are aware of.

Coming from the London workshops in 1972 under the direction of Jacques Cartier it bears all the usual attributes associated with the handmade London cases of the time, putting it into that special category like the Maxi Oval and the original Crash.

Recently serviced by Cartier, which included polishing the case, it is likely that the case reference would previously have matched the deployant clasp number of 1193.
