A GROUP OF ELEVEN TEXTILE PANELS
19th century
Comprising: a pair of panels decorated with qilin and Buddhist lions amidst bats and clouds in Peking stitch, against a couched-gold thread background; a pair of panels each embroidered with cranes and insects surrounded by rockwork and plantations on a beige background; a panel with figures amidst leafy sprays, rockwork and bats; a panel in blue Peking stitch with villas amidst trees; a panel enclosing polychrome flowers and auspicious emblems in Peking stitch; a panel with polychrome butterflies on an embroidered blue floral ground; a panel with cranes amidst clouds above villas in Peking stitch; a panel embroidered with figures on a sampan, dwelling in pavilions and riding a goat; an embroidered panel with butterflies amongst slender flower branches and scattered with lingzhi, all framed and glazed.
The largest 48.2cm (19in) x 23.4cm (9 3/16in). (11).
