十九世紀 紅木鏤空雕根式香幾
This stand is carved from a solid section of wood following the style of root-wood furniture popularised during the Ming dynasty in Jiangnan. The visual effects of root-wood were simulated in various wood types. Compare with a related pair of rootwood and burl stands, 19th/20th century, which was sold at Sotheby's New York, 23 March 2011, lot 652.
