Petite pendule de voyage à boîtier à gorge de la fin du XIXe siècle

A small late 19th century French gorge cased quarter striking carriage clock.


The case surmounted by a rippled carrying handle over a large bevelled glass observation window to a moulded top, the sides with similar glazed observation panels, supported by decorated uprights, all raised on a moulded base. The 2 inch rectangular dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, all framed by a gilt mask, with blued steel hands. The twin-train movement united by four pillars, striking the hours and quarters on a pair of blued steel gongs mounted to the backplate, with silvered platform escapement with an English lever escapement. Ticking and striking. 11cm high.
