A second half of the 18th century table clock, now in a later case

Higgs y Diego Evans, Londres

The 18cm arched brass dial with subsidiary for TOCAR/SILENCIO (strike/silent) over the Roman and Arabic chapter ring, recessed signature plaque, matted centre and date aperture. The twin gut fusee movement with knife-edge verge escapement striking on a large bell, the backplate engraved with a brick tower within foliate scrolls and a line border, secured to the case via the original L-shaped brackets, but the case a later replacement. 54cm (21ins) high.
