A good late 19th century French Louis XV style tortoiseshell Boulle bracket clock and matching bracket

Polti Frères, Tours

The caddy top surmounted by a standing cherub over arched glazed side panels, resting on scroll feet, the tortoiseshell-veneered body inlaid allover with cut brass trailing foliage, together with the original matching wall bracket. The blue enamel Roman cartouche numerals on a cast dial plate, signed below POLTI FRES. A TOURS. The twin barrel movement with anchor type escapement to a steel rod pendulum with brass bob, and outside countwheel strike on a bell. Ticking, striking, with case key and pendulum. 73cm high.
