Although this floral polychrome decoration was probably in use from around 1747, the first mention of a motif with "pittura a fiore nel mezzo con tre fioretti sulla falda senza oro alla Chinese [decoration with a flower in the middle and three small flowers on the rim without gold in the Chinese style]" appears in an inventory list from 1760 (AGL, XC, 2, file 137, I, Manifattura di Doccia. Documenti vari, c. 925).
