A Meissen flower-encrusted pot pourri vase, cover and stand, late 19th century

Of reverse baluster form, each sided moulded with a gilt- and turquoise-edged foliate scrollwork cartouche, on one side painted with a landscape vignette depicting an elegant couple in a park, the reverse with a colourful flower spray, applied with branch handles with trailing flowers and fruit flanking the cartouches and a winged figure of cupid on one side, the flared foot similarly moulded and applied with a putto, two branches of flowers and fruit and a beetle, gilt-edged rims, the domed cover with similar, pierced scrollwork, surmounted by a tall finial of flowers and leaves, on a square stand with scroll feet applied with flowers, moulded with two cartouches enclosing flower sprays and painted overall with scattered flowers and insects, 69cm high overall, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised model number 2745.
