An Urbino maiolica wet drug jar, probably Patanazzi workshop, circa 1590-1600

Painted with a blank drug label above a shield with a bird, the spout with painted flutes below an apothecary badge inscribed "AM/.P.", all enclosed by birds amidst fruit, leaves and flowers, inscribed "G.G." beneath the handle, 22.5cm high (some restoration and typical rim chips)

A dish decorated in similar style attributed to the Patanazzi workshop around 1590-1600 is illustrated in M. Marini, Maiolica and Ceramics in the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, 2024, cat. 306.
