A Best Song Golden Globe Statuette for "Evergreen" from A Star is Born
Warner Bros., 1976. Cast gilt metal globe on marble base with brass plaque reading "Evergreen / Best / Original Song / Motion Picture / "A Star is Born" / 1976..." and number #746 at lower left.
Composed and sung by Barbra Streisand, who also starred in the film opposite Kris Kristofferson, the lyrics were written by the prolific genius, Paul Williams, whose many hit songs were produced throughout the 1970s and are the songbook of that generation. A Star is Born was a remake of the 1937 film of the same name starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March; it would be remade once more in 2018 with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the starring roles. "Evergreen," however, was only used in the 1976 version.
8.5 x 3 x 3 in.
