An Audrey Hepburn Typed Letter Signed to a Childhood Friend, 1960
Typed Letter Signed ("Audrey"), 1 p, 8vo, Beverly Hills, California, October 31, 1960, to Anna Fisk, on cream-colored stationery. Audrey Hepburn's childhood pal from the Netherlands, Anna Boissevain Fisk, was a lifelong friend who kept up a regular correspondence with Hepburn and was even one of the few people invited to her secret wedding to actor Mel Ferrer in 1954. In this missive, Hepburn addresses her pal as "Nanpan" and discusses her busy life (she is in the early stages of filming Breakfast at Tiffany's): "But you know what it is to arrive and settle in a complete household and start a new movie plus going on location at the same time ... have to get to bed very early as I am up at five-thirty nearly every morning." She thanks her friend for the gifts she received upon the birth of her son, Sean Ferrer, in June, and declares her hope that the two will be able to acquaint their young boys with each other in the future.
