Excellent writing, superb acting, phenomenal cinematography, a commitment to accuracy, and a faithful fan base made Boardwalk Empire one of the most successful shows on television. Similar in style to The Sopranos, the show put human faces and sentiments to 1920s gangsters in such a way that audiences became invested emotionally in the characters. Actor Steve Buscemi heads the cast as Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, a powerful Atlantic City politician who works both sides of the fence during Prohibition, living up to the show's tagline of "When alcohol was outlawed, and outlaws became kings." The show went on to win 20 Emmy Awards. Michael K. Williams received an NAACP Award nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, among others, for his role as Chalky White.
Provenance: The Estate of Michael K. Williams.
Box 16 x 12.5 x 10.5 in.
