A Pair of Adam West Signed Batman Drawings
2 animation pencils, the first 9 x 11 in. and with blue pencil highlights and text ("fingers") over graphite, some erasures, showing Batman climbing up a rope, signed by West in black ink at lower right; the second 8 x 10 in. and showing Batman running, signed by West in blue crayon at lower right, each framed with COA of Saturday Morning Cartoon Co laid down to verso of frame.
Similar to the Star Trek television series, the 1960s TV show, Batman, starring Adam West and Burt Ward, was a short-lived series that has lived on in the intervening decades since its inception, in large part due to its campy style and over-the-top performances by West, Ward, and a star-studded cast of character actors such as Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, and Julie Newmar. West was able to milk his role as Batman over the years through appearances on shows such as The Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons, among others, and numerous talk shows, all with good humor. When he wasn't playing Batman, West appeared in both television and film productions which co-starred him with the likes of Paul Newman, James Garner, and The Three Stooges.
Provenance: From the Collection of Kevin Burns and Prometheus Entertainment.
18 x 16 in. each framed.
