A Planet of the Apes One-Sheet Poster

20th Century-Fox, 1968. Original 30 x 40 in. marquee window box one-sheet poster printed on heavy opaque vellum. Created for an illuminating theater display. Exhibits some age, wear, and handling. Rolled, never folded. Tape remnants to corners and some tears in the upper and lower right edges which do not affect the artwork. Planet of the Apes was so popular that it has spawned both sequels and prequels that continue to this day. The beauty of the 1968 version is the incredible makeup and prosthetics (without CGI) and the superb performances of Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, and others. It remains the film to which others in the franchise are compared.

Provenance: The Estate of Wes Shank.
30 x 40 in.
