A The Seven Year Itch Poster for the Woody Herman song, "The Girl Upstairs"
Twentieth Century-Fox, 1955. US poster, folded. The opening strains of the song, "The Girl Upstairs," are immediately recognizable to Marilyn Monroe fans, as they flow throughout The Seven Year Itch, particularly in the skirt-blowing scene and in poignant scenes. The single, recorded by Woody Herman and His Orchestra and Singers, was written by Alfred Newman and released in September 1955 by Capitol Records on 45rpm. Big Band leader Herman was a Grammy Award-winning musician whose career spanned the 1930s to the 1980s.
