It is noteworthy that overglaze pastel blue is used around the bowl instead of the traditional underglaze blue. This type of bowl as seen in the present lot was first created during the Qianlong reign and reproduced during successive reign periods. It was likely used as a ritual vessel for Buddhist worship at the Qing Court.
