The Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronographe reference 47521/000G is a stunning diamond-set timepiece that evokes the art of classical design with a subtle silvered dial and Arabic numerals. Yet beyond the simple beauty of this timepiece lies a horological legend. Powered by the calibre 1141, the movement is based on the legendary Lemania 2310, a handwound movement that has powered some of the most important chronographs in history. From the iconic Patek Philippe reference 3970 perpetual calender chronograph to the famed calibre 321, used in the iconic Omega Speedmaster from 1946 to 1968, which was noted for its precision and durability, and were the only watches capable of passing NASA's tortue test to be certified for use in space. The current lot is in excellent condition and including it full suite of accessories, and is a stunning example, both of Vacheron Constantin's watchmaking capabilities, and the world famous base calibre housed inside.
