The Fellowship of the Ring; The Two Towers; The Return of the King [The Lord of the Rings], 3 vol., FIRST EDITIONS, FIRST IMPRESSIONS of "The Fellowship" and "The Return" (third state with sagging text and numeral 4 on p.49), second impression of "Two Towers", each with folding red and black map (loose in "Fellowship"), spotting to edge of text block, endpapers toned, publisher's red cloth, "Fellowship" worn with white damp spots to upper cover and spine, "Two Towers" worn with light cup stains on upper cover, dust-jacket to "The Return" (spine soiled with small loss at extremities, a few small "tea" stains on upper cover), upper cover and flap only of "Two Towers", 8vo, George Allen and Unwin, [1954-1955]
