Alice's Adventures in Wonderland... With Forty-Two Illustrations by John Tenniel, SECOND (FIRST PUBLISHED) EDITION, first issue with page 30 correctly numbered and the inverted 'S' in the last line of the contents page, half-title, frontispiece and numerous illustrations by Dalziel after Tenniel, some spotting and soiling, short tear to fore-edge of pp.5-6, one corner creased on pp.81-2, light blue endpapers, tissue guard between frontispiece and title, publisher's pictorial red cloth gilt (with "Bound by Burn..." ticket on rear paste-down), g.e., recased with lower joint restored, spine ends and corners strengthened, hinges repaired (with paper to match endpapers), 1866; Through the Looking-glass, and What Alice Found There, FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with misspelling "wade" on p.21, frontispiece and illustrations by John Tenniel, tissue guard between frontispiece and title, dark endpapers, publisher's pictorial red cloth gilt (with "Burn & Co." at rear), recased with short repairs to joints and spine ends, hinges strengthened, 1872, housed together in fleece-lined box, gilt lettered on spine [Williams, Madan & Green 46 and 84], 8vo, Macmillan and Co. (2)
