The figure of Harlequine dancing was reworked in October 1747 by Reinicke (his work notes record "Eine tanzende Arlequinin aus der italienischen Comoedie in Thon reparirt" [a dancing Harlequine from the Italian Comedy repaired in clay]), and Kaendler ("Ein Tantzendes Fugurlein Corrigiret, Welches ein Frauen Zimmer vorstellet" [corrected a dancing figure, which depicts a woman]. See Meredith Chilton, Harlequin Unmasked, 2001, p. 310, cat. 104, for the example in the Gardiner Museum. Other examples of this rare figure were sold at Bonhams London, 14 May 2008, lot 70, and in these Rooms, 15 November 2023, lot 123.
