A John Lennon and Yoko Ono-Signed Lyric Sheet for "Attica State"

Xerographic Document Signed ("John Lennon" and "Yoko Ono"), 1 p, 4to, [New York, January 13, 1972], being the lyrics for "Attica State" as performed on The David Frost Show, original on Apple letterhead, some spotting and toning overall.

In a letter accompanying the lyric sheet, photographer Rich Rosen explains: "'Attica State' addresses the 1971 Attica prison riot, which resulted in 39 deaths of both prisoners and guards ... The lyrics of 'Attica State' caught the attention of then-president Richard Nixon, who directed the FBI to surveil Lennon in New York until his death. / The song was performed on January 13th, 1972, on the David Frost Show." In screen grabs from the appearance accompanying the manuscript, John and Yoko can be seen holding the lyric sheet. In another screen grab, Richard Rosen is shown seated next to a woman arguing with John about the lyrics.
