On May 12, 1973 a young photographer named Rich Rosen was given the opportunity to photograph John and Yoko as they rehearsed for an episode of the rock-and-roll TV series Flipside at the legendary Record Plant Studios in New York City. Rosen explains in statement accompanying this lot: "As a producer, John was determined to make Yoko sound flawless as he prepared to present her to a national audience, pushing her and Elephant's Memory to toil until dawn under near-impossible circumstances. / Little did we know that their marriage was falling apart... When viewing the images, it's fascinating to consider the tumultuous dynamic behind the scenes. Recently, Yoko chose two photographs to be included in the upcoming book MIND GAMES published by Thames and Hudson."

This collection of images has never been presented for auction until now. Please contact the dept for further images of the archive.

AND WITH: a digital recording of John producing Yoko on the evening of May 12, 1973 while Rosen was photographing the two.
