the single-edged watered-steel blade of curved form, engraved and inlaid in gold to the forte to one side with inscription-filled cartouches, the hilt of typical form with walrus ivory grips, the steel cross-guard and backstrap decorated in gold overlay with foliate vines and floral motifs, the steel pommel decorated in silver overlay with vegetal motifs
