the double-edged watered steel blade of slightly curved form, decorated in gold overlay to the forte to both sides with a lobed cartouche terminating in a palmette and filled with foliate interlace, the hilt of waisted form decorated in gold overlay with further cartouches terminating in palmettes on a ground of foliate interlace, the wood scabbard clad in steel decorated en suite
