of cylindrical form, the flat cover cast to the top with a roundel containing an inscription in Arabic, the roundel surrounded by partial flowerhead motifs, all on a ring-punched ground

The present lot is inscribed in sini script, a Chinese Islamic calligraphic form of the Arabic script, developed in the early Ming dynasty.
