Inscriptions: including two Persian quatrains, one attributed to Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi (see kulliyyat-e shams, edited by B. Foruzanfar, vol. 4, Teheran, 1342 sh. p. 239, quatrain no, 1422), found on a number of 13th century pieces including one in the Matossian Collection dated AH 613/ AD 1216-17 (see M. Bahrami, Gurgan Faiences, Cairo 1949, p. 120, pl. LXXI-II); and two common benedictory couplets, one from Firdawsi's Shahnameh; another by Daqiqi.
