Footnotes

Provenance
Private UK collection.

For a similar composition depicting a lion attacking a bull, where the lion's mane is drawn in the same way, as if made of overlapping leaves, see Simon Ray, Indian and Islamic Works of Art, November 2012, no. 30, where it is attributed to Rajasthan, 18th Century, though a possible attribution to Sarwar is suggested.
