A very rare blue colour twist cordial glass, circa 1765

The round funnel bowl moulded with fine flutes to the lower part, the tall stem containing a pair of translucent pale blue threads around an opaque white spiral cable, over a conical foot, 16.8cm high

Colour twist cordial glasses are exceptionally rare and most extant examples are blue. For a blue colour twist cordial glass of identical form but a different stem formation see the example also from the Leuba Collection sold by Bonhams on 13 December 2023, lot 154, which is illustrated by Delomosne and Son in their 1997 catalogue of the Towse Collection alongside the present lot, no.17a.
