Footnotes

A goblet engraved in a very similar style from the Ernesto Wolf Collection , also depicting Greek deities within a comparable foliate wreath, is illustrated by Brigitte Klesse and Axel von Saldern, 500 Jahre Glaskunst (1978), no.99. This relates to a distinct group of densely engraved goblets of Bohemian or Silesian origin, see the example from the Christian von Reitzenstein Collection offered by Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr on 29 October 2024, lot 98 and the corresponding footnote. The arms on the present goblet are unidentified by may relate to the Mohr family.
