A Dutch engraved baluster 'Friendship' goblet, the glass Saxon, mid-18th century

The generous thistle-shaped bowl decorated with a lady and a gentleman seated at a table upon which rests a jug, he proposing a toast with a glass raised in his right hand, flanked by baskets of flowers resting on foliate scrollwork, the reverse inscribed 'VIVAT DAT ONS WEL MAG/ GAHN IN UNSE AUDE/ DAGEN' (Vivat to our wellbeing in old age), the base of the bowl cut with facets, the stem with a shoulder knop, teared inverted baluster and basal knop all cut with facets, over a spreading foot folded at the footrim, 21.1cm high

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
