In the 2012 exhibition catalogue, Kitty Laméris states how this beaker is of the same type as the latticinio glasses in the Danish Royal collection at Rosenborg Castle, given to King Frederik IV in 1709. She illustrates a similar beaker depicted in a painting of the Crucifixion by Peter Gertner, dated 1537, which demonstrates that beakers of this type had already been made for centuries by this time. A very similar beaker with a cover and stand is in Corning Museum of Glass (inv. no.67.3.53) and another is in the Wallace Collection (inv. no.C561). See also the example illustrated and discussed in Georg Laue's catalogue, Das Weiße Gold von Venedig (2014), pp.127 and 195, no.31, and the covered baker from the Paul Gresswell-Wilkins Collection sold by Bonhams on 1 December 2021, lot 31.
