A Dutch engraved baluster goblet, mid-18th century

The glass German, the generous round funnel bowl cut with petal-like facets to the lower part, decorated with a continuous harbour scene depicting a barrels being unloaded from a three-masted ship, a figure in a small sailing boat beside, further figures moving barrels and another being towed away by a horse, before two elaborate buildings including a house and a warehouse, inscribed 'HET WELVAAREN VAN DE WYNKOOPERY' (The Prosperity of the Wine Sellers) to the rim, on a stem with a faceted teared inverted baluster between shoulder and basal knops, over a spreading foot folded at the footrim, 23.1cm high
