A rare Birmingham enamel scent bottle case, circa 1765

Of upright rectangular form, printed in black with bust-length portraits of King George III and Queen Charlotte, four small vignettes of figures and rural landscapes and diaper pattern across the hinged lid, a glass scent bottle and stopper within, 5cm high

Larger Birmingham enamel snuff boxes with very closely related printed portraits of George and Charlotte were believed to have been made around 1761 to celebrate the royal marriage and the coronation, see the example in the Royal Collection (inv. no.RCIN 4099).
