An attractive Dutch engraved light baluster goblet, circa 1760

The generous round funnel bowl finely decorated with two strapwork brackets supporting two female figures emblematic of Hope and Charity, Hope seated beside an anchor holding a palm frond in her right hand and a bird perched in her left, Charity seated beside a nude putto offering her a wreath, nursing an infant child in her arms, the sides with a vase of flowers amongst scrolling foliage, an elaborate arcaded border with tassels and scrollwork to the rim, on a tall multi-knopped stem with an angular knop between knops, above an angular swelling knop and teared baluster, over a conical foot, 20.1cm high

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
