3 volumes. 4to (269 x 205 mm). Lacking half-title in volume one. Contemporary calf, rebacked in modern calf and recornered, some moisture staining to final leaves in vol 1, to title page and first 5 leaves of volume 2, and to top margin of about 60 pp in vols 2 & 3. Volume 3 title page trimmed.
Provenance: Worcester District Medical Society (stamps to title pages); The Reynolds Library, Rochester, NY (blind stamps to title pages); James Tait Goodrich (bookplate).

FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. Morgagni, professor of anatomy at Padua, "was the true founder of modern pathological anatomy," and this work, first published in Venice in 1761, "one of the most important in the history of medicine" (Garrison-Morton-Norman 2276).
