A George II walnut and parcel gilt mirror

1735-1740
The later bevelled plate within a foliate slip, encompassed by a shaped and scrolled frame with a conforming moulded surround and projecting upper angles, flanked by a scrolled corbel-hung floral, foliate and pomegranate carved pendant to each side, the frieze applied with a scrolled acanthus adornment and central pierced shell, surmounted by an egg and dart moulded cornice and swan neck pediment with a stiff-leaf wrapped, scrolled foliate carved and acanthus spray cartouche cresting, 150cm high x 86cm wide.
