A pair of early 20th century Vienna-style twin handled porcelain vases and covers together with a similar smaller pair of Vienna style vases and covers
Circa 1900
The first pair of compressed ovoid urn form with scrolling gilt handles, the bodies decorated with continuous figural friezes depicting classical subjects reserved on a scrolling gilt tooled ground, the waisted shoulders and rims with jewelled and gilt tooled decoration on a cobalt blue ground, the shallow domed covers with gilt floriate finials, the corresponding knopped oval socles raised on oval plinth bases, further decorated with twin classical figural oval reserves, the smaller pair of vases and covers of globular ovoid urn form, the bodies decorated with a continuous classical figural friezes reserved on a gilt tooled trellis ground, the spiral fluted swept necks with knopped domed covers, further gilt decorated on a cobalt blue ground, the corresponding circular socles raised on shallow cylindrical plinths, and lobed moulded bases, the first pair with underglaze blue painted factory marks and indistinct red painted titles to the undersides, the second pair with underglaze blue pseudo factory marks and further blue printed marks to the undersides, the first pair, 61cm high , 42.5cm wide, 23cm deep approximately, the second pair 39cm high, 15cm diameter (4)
